Bows add elegance to bouquets.
Big ribbon bows add a touch of elegance to bouquets, centerpieces and table garlands. While you could pay to purchase bows from a store, the quality is sometimes lacking and the bow might not be exactly what you were looking for. Instead, choose your own ribbon and form your own bows with a simple folding technique.
Instructions
1. Determine the length of tail you want for the bow and pull out that amount of ribbon.
2. Pinch the ribbon at the start of the tail and make a loop with the ribbon.
3. Keep forming loops until you have a full bow and enough ribbon left for the other side of the tail.
4. Secure the bow where you've been pinching it by wrapping a piece of bow tying wire around the pinch. Twist the wire together and fold the ends down, clipping the ends as necessary.
5. Fan out the loops so that the bow looks full and even.
6. Clip the ends of the tails as desired. The most common cuts are either at a simple angle or with points at the end, forming an upside-down "V" shape.
