Make Minnie Mouse Birthday Invitations
Minnie Mouse is a great theme for a young girl's or baby girl's birthday party. Colorful and sweet, Minnie Mouse provides ample color schemes and party game ideas. Saving money when planning your party is important, and making your own Minnie Mouse party invitations is an inexpensive and fun craft project. If you have your own desktop publishing software and a color printer, you are well on your way to creating impressive Minnie Mouse invitations.
Instructions
1. Choose your Minnie Mouse artwork. You can purchase a Disney clip-art collection or, since the images are just for your personal use, you can find images online to download. Simply do a search for Minnie Mouse, right-click on the image and "Save As" a .jpeg file. Save the file to your desktop so that you can easily find it later.
2. Finalize your party information, including the date, time and location of the party as well as any games or activities you want to let parents know about. For example, if it's a pool party, you need to alert parents so that any necessary precautions can be taken for non-swimmers and so they'll bring bathing suits and towels for their children.
3. Open your desktop publishing software to a half-fold greeting card template. Half-fold cards allow you ample space for party information and large graphics that kids will enjoy. Choose from landscape or portrait orientation.
4. Import your first graphic. If using Print Explosion, you'll be selecting Graphic and Browse to find your Minnie Mouse image; in Microsoft Publisher, you'll click on Insert, Picture and Browse. Place your image on the front of the card, leaving space for some text.
5. Insert your front-page text. Click on the text box and type in something simple, such as "You're Invited." If you get Disney clip-art software, it may come with a Disney font for you to use on your card. If not, choose a fun and readable font such as Comic Sans Bold.
6. Move to page three, which will be your inside text page. Here is where you insert all of your party information. Type in the day, date, time and location of the party as well as any RSVP information. Include party details such as activities, if a meal will be served, and any Minnie-Mouse-themed ideas, such as a prize for the most creative hair bow.
7. Add a small colorful graphic, such as a polka-dot hair bow or a small picture of Minnie. Find your clip-art or .jpeg image and size it to fit a smaller corner space.
8. Print your invitations on your blank card stock. Be sure to flip and rotate your card stock as needed to print the pages in the right order.
