Show your team spirit with homemade soccer hair bows.
Keep your hair out of your face while still showing team support and your own creative style by making soccer hair bows. With just a few supplies from the craft store or dollar shop, you can create cute and useful bows to match your uniform, give as gifts or distribute to fans to promote team spirit.
Instructions
1. Cut ribbon into eight 4-inch lengths of each color.
2. Dab a dot of glue onto the end of a ribbon, then press it securely onto the left edge of the barrette. Add another ribbon, in an alternating color, next to the first one, working your way down the length of the barrette to the end, with all ribbons pointing the same way.
3. Repeat adding more ribbons, but glue them so they face the opposite direction. You will have ribbons stemming from the barrette in both directions, with the barrette in the middle.
4. Cut ribbon into 2-inch lengths and glue the pieces end to end so they form closed loops. Draw a line of glue along the closed edges, then press them onto the barrette so the loops stand up. Repeat down the length of the barrette by alternating colors so you have flat ribbons hanging off the barrette and loops standing up.
5. Gently push the looped edges apart in the middle of the barrette, then dab a dot of glue on the bottom of a tiny plastic soccer ball. Hold the pieces firmly together until the ball is secured to the barrette.
6. (Optional) Paint the very tips of the flat ribbon ends with glitter nail polish.
