Make a Bow on a Greeting Card
There are a vast array of trims and decorations available for adorning handmade greeting cards. Make your homemade greeting cards pop with originality and beauty by adding small embellishments such as ribbon bows. Making a ribbon bow for a greeting card is a simple process and, when you add your bow to the card, instantly gives the greeting card dimension and a special flair.
Instructions
1. Cut a 9-inch length of ribbon.
2. Make two 2-inch loops in the ribbon that are evenly spaced from the ends of the ribbon. Make the loops approximately 1 inch apart. The loops should resemble rabbit ears.
3. Cross one loop over the other loop. Below the crossed loops, you should see another small loop of ribbon.
4. Take the ribbon loop you crossed around to the back and up through the small loop of ribbon from Step 3. This ties the two loops together.
5. Tighten the two loops. Adjust the loops to make them the size you desire and to make them even.
6. Cut the two ends of ribbon off at 45-degree angles, leaving them approximately 2 inches long.
7. Place one mini glue dot onto your greeting card at the spot where you want the ribbon bow.
8. Press the ribbon bow down onto the mini glue dot to affix it to the greeting card.
