Hello Cat Party Ideas

Throwing a Hello Kitty party for your young anime fan is a great way to surround her with favorite characters and friends for an unforgettable birthday celebration. Party food, activities and decor can all be customized for a Hello Kitty theme.

Hello Kitty Party Invitations

Order or make Hello Kitty Party Invitations. On the Hello Kitty website there are free printable Hello Kitty coloring pages. Use these to craft your own customized invitations. Color one of the pictures using your desktop painting program or markers. Make color copies of the colored image and then cut it out and mount it to blank cards, available from scrapbooking stores or paper supply stores. Hello Kitty is often shown on a grassy green background with a red bow in her hair and a pink dress.

Hello Kitty Party Foods

Add non-alcoholic grenadine syrup and maraschino cherries to a punch bowl filled with 7-Up for some Hello Kitty Shirley Temples.

You can also create a fizzy Hello Kitty punch by combining ginger ale, white grape juice and rounded scoops of raspberry sherbet.

Make "Chococat" strawberries by dipping strawberries in melted chocolate chips. Place each one on a waxed paper heart and stick them in the fridge to keep the chocolate firm until they're ready to serve.

Watermelons make a great Hello Kitty party food because they've got all the Hello Kitty colors. Serve watermelon balls on the ends of Hello Kitty toothpicks.

Make Hello Kitty cupcakes. Top them with white frosting, use black licorice for whiskers and cut fruit leather hair bows. Press two white Necco wafers into the side to make ears. A teeny bit of black frosting can be applied for eyes and a nose.

Hello Kitty Party Decorations

Bring out all of the Hello Kitty toys, dolls and games in the house and display them. Use Hello Kitty stickers, posters and promotional material to create Hello Kitty signs, banners and posters. Hello Kitty plates, cups and tablecloths can be purchased from online vendors and at your local party store. Solid-colored materials are easier to reuse in case you have leftovers, and they're less "busy" than the patterned items, making them a better representation of the simple, clean colors of Kitty's world.

Hello Kitty Party Activities

When the kids arrive, give each one a pair of Hello Kitty ears. You can make them with a little girl's head band or buy them online. Paint whiskers on the children's faces using face paint or washable markers.

Have a kitty-cat race, to see who can crawl from point A to point B the fastest.

Lap milk from a bowl like kittens do. The bowls can be on the floor or on a table. For competitive milk-lapping, make sure each bowl has a measured amount of milk. Allow children who are lactose intolerant to have juice.

Play "pass the kitty" just like "hot potato," but using a stuffed Hello Kitty doll. While the music plays, kids pass the cat around the circle, and when the music stops, whoever is left holding it is out. The winner is the last child who wasn't holding the cat when the music stopped.
