Make a Handmade Silk Rolled Pink Rosette for the Hair
A handmade silk rolled pink rosette is a beautiful addition to any hairstyle. It adds a touch of femininity you just can't get from other hair accessories. Both women and little girls can wear these charming hair accessories with flair and style. Girls will love them for school and important social events. Adult women will enjoy wearing them for the air of innocent appeal they provide. These delicate accessories are not that hard to make once you learn the basic techniques.
Instructions
1. Stitch the entire bottom length of the ribbon using the needle and thread. Stick as close to the edge of the ribbon as possible with the stitching.
2. Pull on the end of the thread until half of the stitched thread is hanging free of the ribbon. This will pull the ribbon up onto itself in a crinkle-like shape.
3. Fold 1/4 inch of the far end of the ribbon onto itself and stitch it into place using tiny stitches. This forms the bud of the rose.
4. Wrap the crinkled ribbon around the rosebud, stitching the ribbon into place every 1/2 inch. When the end of the ribbon is reached, sew it against the bottom edge of the rosette, cut the thread and tie it in a knot as close to the flat side of the ribbon as possible.
5. Thread the needle again and make a stitch through the bottom of the rosette. Bring the stitch around one arm of an open bobby pin. Continue to stitch around the arm of the bobby pin until the rosette feels tight and secure and does not move when the pin is shaken or turned.
6. Cut the thread and tie it in a knot against the bobby pin.
