Do a Dominican Blowout
A Dominican blowout and Doobie (Wrapping the hair) is a technique that is done mostly at Dominican hair salons to straighten the hair and make it shiny and smooth. A Dominican blowout is a very good choice for when you want to grow out a perm or relaxer. Very little product is used during the blowout process which helps your hair maintain lots of movement and bounce. When a Dominican blowout is done right, the hair is shiny, smooth, bouncy, and feels very light. You can go to a Dominican salon to get a blowout done or you can try and do it at home yourself to save some money. If you are going to try and do your own Dominican Blowout, you will need to make sure you have all the required tools such as rollers, hair clips, hair dryer, a blow dryer that gets really hot, a round brush and flat iron. Instructions
1. Wash and condition your hair really good. You could even use a deep conditioner. Make sure you use a shampoo and a hair conditioner that softens your hair. Rinse out the conditioner with cool water.
2. Apply a leave-in blow drying lotion. Be generous in the amount you use if you have thick hair.
3. Part your hair in sections and set your hair with rollers. Sit under a hooded dryer until your hair is completely dry. Do not add any oil to your hair. Adding any oils before blow drying may cause your hair to burn while using a really hot blow dryer.
4. Remove the rollers and blow dry your hair with a round brush and a really hot blow dryer with a concentrator nozzle to straighten the hair. The concentrator nozzle is a very important step in the blowout technique as it directs the heat into the one specific area where you are pointing it on your hair
5. Put the round brush at the top section of your hair at the roots and brush down while blow drying your hair. It goes form the root of your hair down to the end of your hair. When you get to the end of your hair, make sure to roll the brush under so the ends of the hair are slightly bent under.
6. Use a flat iron to get your hair smooth and straight
7. Finally, spray a silicone product such as a hair polisher or gloss that makes your hair shiny.
