Make Flat Bow Ties
Wearing a bow tie is a classic style, whether you're in a wedding party or going out for a formal event. Bow ties give the look of elegance and prestige with your formal wear. However, bow ties are notorious for being difficult to tie. Some men opt to purchase a clip-on bow tie where the tie comes as a bow on two pieces of cloth that clip around the back of the neck. Others can make a bow tie, but they can come out bulky and misshapen. However, with a few guided steps, you can learn make a straight, sophisticated and flat bow tie.
Instructions
1. Put the bow tie around your neck. Pull the left side of the bow tie down 2 inches longer than the right side. To avoid confusion, the right side of the bow tie will be referred to as "A" and the left side as "B."
2. Cross A directly over the top of B.
3. Loop A under B, and pull through the top at the collar.
4. Fold B so that the end of the bow points to the right.
5. Loop A over the center of B that you just folded.
6. Loop A behind B, and pull it through the material in the back.
7. Adjust the bow tie so that it is snug and perfectly in place.
