Tie The Right Bow

A bow is the perfect finishing touch on a gift.

Tying the perfect bow is something many people strive to do. You see bows everywhere, it seems. In movies, gifts are always wrapped with big, lush bows. Little girls' hair is often decorated with them, and during the holidays a big red bow is a common decoration. People have been decorating with bows for hundreds of years. Anyone can tie a perfect bow in just a few steps.

Instructions

1. Make two even loops on each side of your ribbon, making it look like a loose 'M.'

2. Cross the right loop over the left one and then knot the loops by bringing the right one behind the left one and then under it and up through the hole. The ribbon shouldn't be twisted or crinkled.

3. Pull the loops tight, creating a smooth knot. Adjust the loops so they lay flat and perfect, and then trim the tails with scissors so that they are even but still longer than the loops. You can make a notch or a diagonal cut in the ribbon ends.
