A 3-year-old girl is ready to step out of the little baby shell. She is talking and has her own opinions and attitude and she is ready for toys that are gender-specific. Unlike the baby of 1 and 2, a 3-year-old is no longer interested in games and toys that just make sounds and flash lights. Fortunately, 3-year-old girls are also at an age where any gift is appreciated as long as it suits her tastes.
Cooking Sets
Seeing Mommy or Daddy in the kitchen cooking can make a 3-year-old girl interested in her own cooking experiments. At the age of 3, she might not be ready for a real kitchen, but getting her a kitchen set with play food, pans and utensils can allow her to play cooking or shopping games. Gifts can include anything from an entire play kitchen to just the cooking utensils and fake food. This gift will get her started in her interest in cooking and make-believe.

Little girls' books are an option for a 3-year-old, who will soon be ready to read. Books can range from gender-neutral books that teach specific lessons to gender-specific books about classic princess stories, stories about ballerinas or stories about little girls. For example, "Boo Hoo Bird" by Jeremy Tankard is appropriate for a 3-year-old or "Wee Little Bunny" by Lauren Thompson for the girl who loves furry animals. Dress-Up Toys
A 3-year-old girl is at the age where she wants to dress up every day. Dress-up toys are always appropriate for her. Items might range from a beauty bag, complete with little girl make-up, brushes, curling iron and hair bows, to outfits for her collection or even a dressing room tent and little red carpet for the Hollywood dress-up star.
