Big Team Color Hair Bows
Big hair bows in team colors are often worn by female cheerleaders on game days or for competition. You can make your own homemade hair bows in team colors and then attach then to hair elastics so that the cheerleader in your life will always have a spirit filled bow to wear in her hair. You can also add buttons in the shape of sports equipment to the top of the hair bows.
Hand-Decorated Practice Outfit
Craft stores carry plain t-shirts, tank tops and knit shorts that can be decorated with fabric paints and iron-on transfers. You can decorate a pair of shorts and tank top or t-shirt to make the cheerleader in your life a spirited practice outfit. Use iron-on transfer letters to put her name on the back of her shirt. You can draw pom-poms and a megaphone with fabric paint on the bottom of the legs of the shorts.
Spirited Tote Bag
Cheerleaders that have to attend practice and games right after school are often left lugging around a lot of extra stuff with them. You can help make carrying all that extra baggage easier with a hand-decorated spirited tote bag. You can use fabric paint, foam stamps, iron-on transfers and even rhinestones to decorate a tote bag with a team spirit theme for the cheerleader in your life. Craft stores carry canvas tote bags in all different colors so you might be able to find a tote in one of her team colors so that it will coordinate with her cheerleading uniform. Tie team color 6-inch strips of ribbon around the handles of the tote to give it a decorative touch.
Game Day Survival Bag
You can put together a small make-up bag filled with useful items that a cheerleader can use when she finds herself in a jam. Fill the make-up bag with stain removing wipes in case she spills something on her uniform. Throw in a couple tubes of lip balm, as cheerleader's lips can dry quickly when she is outside in the cold cheering at a football game. A travel-size deodorant is a wonderful item to include in the survival bag because all that cheering can work up a sweat.
For female cheerleaders you can include some special items. Put a couple of hair elastics and some bobby pins in the bag for hair emergencies. You can also include items like tampons, facial tissue and shimmery lotion. A cheerleader has a lot of items to remember for each game and a game day survival bag will save her on those days when she forgets something.
