Make a loopy hair bow from a rainbow of colored ribbons.
Create a loopy hair bow of any size and color to coordinate with a little girl's dress or your own favorite outfit. You can make the hair bow from different colored ribbons and attach the bow to a plastic or metal hair clip. Make the hair bow any size you would like by adjusting the length and number of ribbons used. When you have completed the hair bow, you can embellish it with even more flair by gluing on little gemstones.
Instructions
1. Cut 12 sections from each spool of ribbon. Make the sections 6 inches long for a medium-size hair bow. Make them 8 inches long for a large hair bow.
2. Take one section of each color and lay the pieces one on top of the other to make a three-layer stack. Repeat with the remaining ribbon sections until you have 12 stacks of ribbon, each containing the three different colors.
3. Take one three-layer set of ribbons and shape it into a loop. Sew the short ribbon ends together. Repeat with each three-layer set.
4. Pile the loops on top of each other with the sewn sections in the center. Sew through the center of the loops to join the layers of ribbons together. Spread out the individual loops to make a circle of loopy ribbons.
5. Apply some hot glue to the back center of the loopy bow and press the glue against a metal or plastic hair clip. Hold firmly for 30 seconds.
