A headband keeps hair out of your eyes.
If you want a chic girly look, accessorize your outfit with a headband. Instead of buying a generic looking headband that probably won't perfectly match your outfit, craft your own. Give a headband you already own a makeover by adding a bow to it. Using ribbons in colors and prints that you like, you can make any headband a cute hair accessory that keeps hair looking stylish and under control.
Instructions
1. Cut grosgrain or velvet ribbon that's 3/8 inches wide into three strips that measure 3 inches, 7 inches and 8 inches.
2. Dab hot glue on the ends of the ribbon that measures seven inches. Hot-glue the ends together. Do the same to the ribbon that measures 8 inches. Let the glue dry on these ribbon circles.
3. Fold the ribbon circles in half and dab glue on the inside center of the circles to create bases for your bows.
4. Place the small bow base on top of the larger bow base to create a layered bow base. Hot-glue the ribbons in place to secure them.
5. Hot-glue the layered bow to the headband. Glue it to the right side, left side or middle of the headband.
6. Create the center of the bow using the ribbon that's 3 inches long. Glue the ribbon perpendicular to the center of the layered bow and wrap the ends of the ribbon around the headband so they're hidden from view. Hot-glue them in place; let the glue dry. Depending on your preference, use ribbon that contrasts with the color of the bow or that matches it.
7. Embellish your bow if you want to add a touch of glamor to it. Hot-glue rhinestones to the center or on the entire bow.
