Choose any colors you want for your hair bows.
Curly ribbon hair bows, known as korker ribbon, add some fun and color to any hair style. These pom-pon looking bows can be sold for $10 or more from a hair boutique or online. Save money by making your own ribbons, using different colors or designs that you choose for your bows.
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 275 degrees. To keep the ribbons in a permanent spiral curl, they need to be "baked."
2. Put one end of one ribbon at the top of a dowel. Clip a clothespin to the top of the dowel to keep the ribbon in place.
3. Turn the dowel clockwise to twist the ribbon around it. Use your non-dominant fingers to ensure the ribbon twists tightly around the dowel.
4. Cut off any ribbon that hangs past the bottom of the dowel. Use another clothespin to clip the bottom of the ribbon to the dowel.
5. Repeat Steps 2 through 4 for each dowel. It takes about 30 ribbons to make one hair bow.
6. Place all 30 dowels onto a cookie sheet. Slide the sheet into the oven, and bake the ribbons for 25 minutes.
7. Let the ribbons cool for 20 to 30 minutes. Remove the clothespins from each dowel, and slide each ribbon from their dowel. All of the ribbons will be perfectly curled.
