Remove Fake Finger Nail Glue

Fake nails are ideal for special occasions.

Fake nails are great for parties, weddings, dates or even everyday use. They can add length, color, sparkle and uniformity to any set of natural nails, and many people use them on a regular basis. Fake nails, or the variety that you would purchase at a pharmacy or beauty supply store, can be applied at home using the glue and tools provided. When it comes time for removal, fake nail glue can be stubborn, but with the right technique, it will slide right off.

Instructions

1. Clip your fake nails until they are very short. The shorter they are, the easier they will be to remove. If you have already removed the nails and just have excess glue to remove, skip to Step 2.

2. Pour the acetone into the bowl until it is 3/4 full. Set the bowl on a flat surface.

3. Put your fingertips into the bowl of acetone. Allow to remain submerged for 15 minutes.

4. Remove your hands from the acetone soak. Peel away any nail and glue remnants. The acetone will dissolve both the nail material and the glue.

5. Rub away any glue that is still on your nail bed using your fingers. Rinse your fingers under running water to remove the acetone.

6. Examine your fingertips for any leftover glue. Using your nail file, file away any final glue spots.

7. Massage lotion into your fingertips and nail beds. Acetone is extremely drying, so be sure to moisturize following the soak.
