Make ribbon hearts to give as Valentine's Day gifts.
When Valentine's Day approaches, it can be difficult to think of a gift for your significant other that is not generic and commercial. One solution is to make a handmade love-themed gift using materials that can be purchased at a craft supply store. For example, you can make a beautiful ribbon heart out of ribbon and felt fabric that your loved one can hang up as a festive handmade Valentine's Day decoration.
Instructions
1. Cut out two hearts from felt fabric using pinking shears. The pinking shears cut the edges in a scallop shape. Make the heart shapes the exact same size.
2. Cut a piece of ribbon to measure 8 inches long.
3. Sew the ends of the ribbon onto the dip in one of the heart shapes. This causes the ribbon to create a loop.
4. Place the second heart shape on top of the first, lining up the edges.
5. Sew around the edges of the two shapes, leaving 1 inch unsewn.
6. Stuff the heart form with cotton batting through the unsewn hole.
7. Sew the hole closed. Hang the ribbon heart onto a door knob or wreath by the ribbon loop as a festive holiday decoration.
