Short scene hair can spike upward, unlike long hair.
"Scene hair" is a particular type of hairstyle worn by those in the emo clique, both by boys and girls. Scene hair tends to be very voluminous and dramatically dyed. Each scene hair style varies from person to person, depending on the method and colors used. Also, scene hair should be all about individuality; a scene style that may look good on another person may not look good on you, so experiment in front of the mirror and find your own style using the techniques below.
Instructions
1. Wash your hair. Use conditioner and shampoo for extra volume. Use a straightener to flatten your hair.
2. Use root-lifting spray. Toss your hair to one side and spray directly on your scalp. Do the same to the other side and the back.
3. Use a teasing comb. Hold a large section of hair away from your scalp. Brush the teasing comb inward, toward the scalp.
4. Part your hair on one extreme side of your head (a side of your choosing). Use hairspray on your entire style, including the bangs. Tease your hair a little more for places that might need extra volume. Bangs should not be teased and can also be very long, as "fringe" style bangs. Clip back your bangs while styling.
5. For shorter hair, tease your hair as you did in the previous steps, making sure you layer the back and side so the hair can possibly spike up on top. Use a bit of hair wax or gel to hold the spikes in the back or side of the hair. Also, try using extensions.
