Craft Fundraiser Ideas

Crafts for fundraising

Fundraising is something millions of people do every year to raise money for worthy causes. It may be for a local charity, an organ transplant, a mission trip or an educational trip to someplace like Washington, D.C. There are many types of fundraisers to choose from. However, holding a fundraiser with items you've made can be especially profitable.

Bake Sale

While this might not seem like a "craft," it is indeed, as you are making everything from scratch. It would be pretty hard to find someone who has never participated in a bake sale. Bake sales are a very common way to raise money, because they work. Who can resist a homemade pie or homemade brownies with homemade ice cream? If your group isn't very good at creating handmade crafts, then a bake sale is the perfect way to raise the funds you need.

Accessories

If you've been to the mall recently, chances are you've noticed all the vendors selling girls' and women's accessories. A small investment in the right materials to make beaded jewelry for women will easily turn a profit for your fundraiser. Another idea is to purchase ribbon in bulk and have a hair-bow-making party. Those adorable hair bows you see baby girls wearing are not hard to put together, nor do they cost much to make, but they can sell for $10 or more a piece.

Picture Tiles

This is a very simple craft to make. You will need plenty of small, plain white 3 x 3 inch square tiles and lots of Mod Podge. You can find the tiles at almost any hardware store. Remember buying in bulk is usually cheaper. Take orders from people who want a photo turned into a memorable coaster. Charge $5 or more per coaster, and have the customer provide you with the photo. Cut the picture to fit the coaster; paint a layer of Mod Podge on the tile. Stick the photo to it, and then paint another layer of Mod Podge on top of the picture to secure it in place. Once that layer dries, paint one more layer on top of the photo and let it dry. After the second layer has been done and dried, the coaster is finished. This is a cheap and easy fundraiser to do, because people love buying personalized items.
