Make Animal Hair Bows

Put some color into your pooch's 'do.

If you're looking to make your animal appear cuter, try adding bows to the fur. The bows will give your pet's fur some color and fun. Instead of purchasing fur hair bows from a pet supply store or a pet grooming shop, you can make them on your own. What's best about making them yourself is that you can make many different bows to correspond with the seasons, special occasions and holidays.

Instructions

1. Thread the ribbon through the middle of the hair tie. These tiny hair ties can be purchased from any beauty supply store. They work well on dogs because they are very small and thin.

2. Pull up on both ends of the ribbon so the hair tie slides to the middle. Tie the ribbon into a simple knot.

3. Tie the ribbon into a small bow on the hair tie. Cut the ribbon ends to make them even.

4. Gather a small area of your animal's fur--do not pull up tightly on the fur. Gently, wrap the hair tie bow around the fur.
