Boutique hair bows are a very popular hair accessory for girls. Used for pageants, special occasions, and everyday wear, the bows can easily cost $5.00 to $10.00 each. So, learning to make your own hair bows can save you time and money. Here are instructions on make boutique hair bows for your little girl.
Instructions
1. Cut the ribbon into strips. Cut a six-inch strip of the wider ribbon and a six-inch strip of the more narrow ribbon. Cut each ribbon in a five-inch strip as well. Also, cut a two-inch section of each ribbon.
2. Lay each layer of narrow ribbon on top of the wide ribbons. Use a small amount of fabric glue to secure them in place. You can use more layers of ribbon if you wish. Try to combine a patterned fabric with a plain brightly colored fabric.
3. Fold each set of layers over into a loop. Secure the loops with fabric glue.
4. Layer the smaller loop on top of the larger loop and attach with wire or thread. You can sew the ribbons in place or wrap wire around them.
5. Layer the short two-inch strips of fabric and wrap it around the center of the bow. Glue it in place. You can add a fuzzy pom-pom or other item on top of the center piece of the bow to further customize it.
6. Secure the bow to a metal hair clip with thread or hot glue.
