Little girls look so cute in bows and they are all the rage with even the smallest of debutants. Making your own can be fun and easy, and you can make one that matches every outfit for a fraction of the cost to buy them from pricey boutiques. Once you've mastered the basic bow detailed below, the number of different types of bows you can make are endless!
Instructions
Make Bows
1. Cut your lengths of ribbon, dip the tips of each one in clear nail polish and let dry. This step is very important as it stops the end of your ribbon from fraying.
2. Fold each length of ribbon over itself, overlapping slightly, to form a loop. Glue ends to secure. Repeat this process for all length of ribbon except for the 3/8 width ribbon.
3. Cut a three inch length of wire and lay it flat on your work surface. Place your two largest loops side by side on wire. Bring wire together in the middle, twisting tightly.
4. Repeat Step 3 for medium sized loops.
5. Wrap a length of wire tightly around the center of the smallest loop.
6. Stack medium loops on top of larger loops and wrap wire around both sets of loops.
7. Place smallest loop on top of already stacked loops and wire togther.
8. Trim wire on back of bow and hot glue wired loops to barrette.
9. Wrap 3/8 inch of ribbon around barrette and bow. Glue seams on the back of the bow.
10. Fluff bow and position loops as you please.
