Make the perfect wired ribbon bow.
Wired ribbons are made of fabric with thin, bendable wires running through the outer edges. Although any ribbon can be made into a bow, wire ribbons often look the best. Once the ribbon is made, the bow and tails can be molded and formed to look perfect. When you're finished, the perfect bow will look nice as a holiday decoration, the topper on gift wrapping or dressing up the reception hall for a wedding.
Instructions
1. Lay the ribbon flat. Imagine that the ribbon is divided into three parts. The first third will be the left loop, the middle third will be the middle "U" and the last third will the right loop.
2. Make a loop out of the last third. Hold that loop in your right hand.
3. Make a second loop with the first third. This loop should be the same size as the first loop. Hold this loop in your left hand. Notice the "U" that forms in between the two loops when you hold them up.
4. Cross the right loop over the left loop to turn the "U" into a circle.
5. Fold the right loop behind the left loop and through the middle of the circle.
6. Pull on both loops to tighten the bow--you can also pull on both of the tails to loosen the bow, as well. Adjust the bow to ensure that both bow loops are the same size.
7. Cut the excess tails off using a pair of scissors. For a professional look, cut the tails into a slant or an upside down "V."
