Turn plain flip flops into children's style fashion.
Many children love clothing decorated with their favorite television or movie characters. While it's possible so sometimes find flip flops decorated with movie characters, especially with the more popular Disney offerings, not every person or animal is represented. If your daughter is in love with a certain character, or if she simply enjoys everything with hearts and the color purple, create these quick decorated flip flops for her summer wardrobe.
Instructions
1. Cut fabric ribbon into 8-inch pieces. Tie each ribbon piece into a neat bow. Make sure the bow is very tight. Place a dot of hot glue in the center of the flip flop straps and glue the bow onto the strap center.
2. Cut lengths of contrasting ribbon into 6-inch pieces and tie them into smaller bows. Glue a smaller bow onto each larger bow, centering the bows in the middle of the flip-flop straps.
3. Cut a two squares of a Styrofoam sheet to fit inside a bottle cap interior. Glue one square on the inside surface of each bottle cap.
4. Cut out a picture of your child's favorite character, animal or design. The picture or photo should be small enough to fit on the bottle cap. Cut the design into a circle, using the top of a bottle cap as a template. Glue each circular picture to the top of each of the bottle caps, to cover and decorate the top of each bottle cap.
5. Spread hot glue over the surface of each Styrofoam square inside the bottle tops. Glue each square and bottle top to the center of each pair of bows on the flip flops. You now have two flip flops decorated with a round photo of a child's favorite character set into a double set of bows.
