Ripped jeans are popular with scene kids.
The scene movement is a subculture of young adults who are devoted to alternative music, indie films and fashion. The typical style of scene girls is a little difficult to pin down since their look is similar to emo, but they do seem to have some similarities.
Hair
Scene hair is typically large. The girls use copious amounts of products, such as mousse and hairspray, in their hair. The hair should be puffed up on the top and sides, almost like the hairstyles of the 1960s but looser. The cuts are choppy, possibly with long bangs, or pulled to the side with a large chunk across the forehead. The hair may be long or short, but typically some hair is in the eyes, and the cut is more textured than smooth. The girls sometimes wear their hair quite short in the back, but very long on the sides and front. The hair is often various colors. Scene girls like colors such as pink or blue. They often wear the black and white look in their hair.
Clothing
Scene clothing is funky and bold and usually consists of skinny jeans, leggings, stripes, mini-skirts and fishnet stockings. Neon colors or flashy colors like red, orange, hot pink and violet are popular. Black and white is a common look for scene kids. They like prints, including animal prints, bullets, guns or stars. Often seen in tee shirts that have odd quotes, scene kids want to make a statement.
Accessories
Scene accessories are large. The girls like to have great, big bows in their hair, often childish looking with Hello Kitty or Care Bears. Their accessories are playful with big bright colors. They also have a little bit of a dark side with skulls sometimes being a theme alongside a big pink polka dot bow or tiara. They like large sunglasses. Scene girls who don't like to dye their hair might clip on some colored extensions. They wear thick makeup with big bold colors. Large eyeliner is very common. Pink and black jelly bracelets are a favorite.
