Transform toilet paper into cheap paper bows.
Hobbyists traditionally use decorative ribbon to make bows for hair or packages. Paper, tape and string are also suitable bow making materials, but obviously with a less attractive result. Toilet-paper bows are not meant to be attractive, however; they are typically worn ironically as an inexpensive fashion statement. The bows also add an irreverent touch to cheap newsprint wrapping paper.
Instructions
1. Cut a rectangular piece of toilet paper to the desired length and width. A 2-by-4 inch rectangle is perfect for hair.
2. Pinch both sides of the rectangle together in the middle to make a bow shape. Wrap tape around the pinched area to hold the bow in place. For a neater bow, wrap a strip of toilet paper around the tape and secure the paper at the back of the bow with a dot of glue.
3. Tape or glue an elastic band to the back center of the bow to make a hair bow. Use tape if securing the elastic band to a tape surface, and glue if attaching to a paper surface. Wait for the glue to dry before using it in your hair.
