Do Scene Hair With Medium Hair

Hairspray helps to transform medium hair into scene hair.

Scene, or emo, hair is used to make a statement about the wearer and is, therefore, full of volume and texture. Often in different colors such as bright pink or electric blue, scene hair is big and bold with length in the back and messy short layers in the front.

Instructions

1. Comb and straighten your hair thoroughly.

2. Run the tip of a comb horizontally along your scalp from the back of one ear to the other to make a part. Clip the hair above the part up out of the way

3. Clip in a long extension 1/2-inch from your scalp along the part.

4. Make another horizontal part an inch above the first in the same way as in Step 1. Clip in another long extension as in Step 2, then unclip the rest of your hair and comb down to cover the extension clips.

5. Make a center part, using the comb, and clip the hair from an inch on either side of it up out of the way.

6. Grab a section of your natural hair from the front left of your head, above the extensions, and comb thoroughly from the ends to the roots to create volume. Spray the back-combed section thoroughly with extra strong hairspray and scrunch it with your hands to encourage it to hold the volume. Work your way around the rest of your natural hair above the extensions to create a strip of "big" hair around the middle of your head.

7. Unclip the top section of hair and comb it over the back-combed hair to give a smooth, finished look. Spray with finishing spray and tease with your fingers to achieve the desired look.
