If you know tie a bow, you can learn to make hair bows for ponytails. The easiest way to create this adornment is to loop a ribbon around the ponytail and tie it in a bow. But this type of bow tends to fall out. If you want to make secure and fancy bows, you're going to need some ponytail holders and a variety of ribbons.
Instructions
Single Bow Ponytail Holder
1. Cut 1-inch-wide ribbon into a piece 10 inches long. Loop the ribbon around a ponytail holder, lining up the ribbon ends evenly.
2. Tie the ribbon in a tight and neat knot around the ponytail holder. Dab super glue over and around the knot to secure it to the ponytail holder. Let dry.
3. Take the ribbon ends and tie them into a large and even bow. Make sure the bow and ponytail holder are parallel, so that the bow covers the holder.
4. Spread a little super glue on the back of the button. Place the button in the middle of the bow, over the knot, and let dry.
Triple Bow Ponytail Holder
5. Cut 1-inch-wide ribbon into a piece 10 inches long. Repeat process to create two additional lengths of ribbon in contrasting colors. Stack the three ribbons together evenly and loop the stack around a ponytail holder.
6. Tie the ribbon stack in a tight and neat knot around the ponytail holder while still keeping the ribbon ends even. Dab super glue over and around the knot to secure it to the ponytail holder. Let dry.
7. Take the ends of the ribbon stack and tie them into a large and even bow. Separate the individual ribbons by pulling them in different directions, creating a floral effect.
8. Spread a little super glue on the back of the button. Place button in the middle of the bows, over the knot, and let dry.
