Flat back glass marbles, also known as glass globs, are fun to work with to create all kinds of craft projects. Their popularity comes from the way they magnify any image or word placed behind them. Glass globs come in a multitude of colors as well, so they can even be used by themselves to create colorful crafts. Get started crafting with flat back glass marbles by creating pretty hair clips. This is a simple and useful project that will teach you the basics of crafting with these marbles, but be prepared, as it can be very addictive.

1. Punch out two circles from the colorful or patterned paper, and two circles from the white cardstock. Spread a little silicon caulking on the back of the first flat back glass marble and gently lay the marble down on top of the first patterned circle. Smooth the paper down, carefully, with your finger, pressing out any air bubbles. Repeat for the second marble.
2. Allow the marbles to dry for an hour or so. Then repeat the gluing process with both marbles using the white circles. These will prevent the decorative paper from wrinkling when you glue it to the snap clip barrette. Set the marbles aside to dry for 24 hours.
3. Add glue stick to your glue gun and heat the glue gun according to manufacturer's directions. Once the glue is heated, attach a dab of glue to the back of the flat glass marble. Quickly apply the marble to the large front end of the flat snap clip barrette. You must get it attached while the glue is still hot.
4. Repeat this step for the second barrette. Allow the glue to cool for a few minutes, and then gently tug the marble to make sure that it is securely attached. If it comes off, heat the glue gun again and repeat the steps to attach.
5. Allow the barrettes to completely set for 24 hours before wearing.
