Korker ribbon comes already curled, ready for craft projects.
Korker bows are extremely popular accessories made with bows that are pre-curled. Korker bows are used as brooches, or most commonly as hair accessories for little girls. Tiny versions are made to complete the groom of a dog, too.The versatility of a korker bow is that it can be made in any combination of colors to coordinate with whatever outfit is worn. They're quite expensive, and to make them yourself is easy and can be fun. Making korker bows is a great craft project for a baby shower or a little girl's birthday party.
Instructions
1. Purchase pre-made korker ribbon in the colors you want.
2. Cut korker ribbon into 2.5-inch sections. Use scissors or a rotary cutter and cutting mat.
3. Decide what size bow and how fully you want it to be.
4. Choose 20 to 35 pieces of cut ribbon (depending on how full you'd like the bow to be).
5. Prevent fraying. Apply either fray check or clear nail polish to the ends.
6. Cut a piece of 12-inch elastic or string.
7. Lay elastic or string on a flat, even surface.
8. Place grouping of korker ribbon on top of the bow. The string should be in the middle of the cut ribbon.
9. Pull string up tight.
10. Tie string into a knot around the ribbons; double knot it. Use some hot glue to hold the ribbons tightly together (the latter is optional).
11. Turn bow over, make sure all ribbons are lined up evenly and make adjustments if necessary. (If hot glue is used, line up ribbons before applying hot glue.)
12. Attach bow to a barrette, alligator clip, headband, ponytail holder, safety pin or brooch pin.
