Use ribbon to make craft projects.
You can use ribbon to embellish several crafts and projects for your own home or to give away as gifts. From a ribbon windsock to a Christmas ribbon wreath, use your imagination to create the perfect ribbon projects your friends will envy. A quick trip to your local craft store is all you will need to get started on these ribbon crafts.
Ribbon Windsock
To make a ribbon windsock, you will need an embroidery hoop, double-sided tape and several types of ribbon. Cut all the ribbon the same length (either 1/2 yard or 1 yard). Place a piece of double-sided tape on one end of the ribbon and stick it on the inside of the embroidery hoop. Cover the entire hoop with ribbon. Take a few pieces of ribbon and use them to tie around the hoop to hang the windsock from a patio or tree. Make holiday-themed ribbon windsocks by incorporating themed ribbon. For example, use pastel-colored ribbons along with ribbon with Easter eggs on it to make an Easter-themed windsock. Make a Valentine's windsock by using red, white and pink ribbon or Valentine-themed ribbon.
Ribbon Canister
Create a ribbon canister by using a tin canister with lid, ribbon, hot glue and jewels. Cut each piece of ribbon long enough to fit around the canister. Hot glue the ribbon around the canister and allow it to dry completely. Use ribbon colors that match your home d cor for added decoration. Hot glue jewels or beads to the top of the canister in the same color as the ribbon. Use the canister to store hair accessories, toothbrushes, bath salts or a small votive candle.
Christmas Wreath
Make a Christmas wreath using a metal ring, green Christmas ribbon that is at least 1 1/2 inches wide, artificial holly beads, green craft wire and scissors. Cut pieces of ribbon that are approximately six inches in length, and tie each piece of ribbon around the metal ring. Fill the metal ring completely with ribbon. Use the craft wire to attach the artificial holly berries around the metal ring and in between the ribbon. For added decoration, tie a large, red Christmas bow to the top or bottom of the wreath. Use the green craft wire to hang the wreath in your home or on your front door.
