Color Hair 2 Different Colors In Your Own Home

If you don't feel like spending the money on a salon dye job for something you can do yourself at home, you can go to the store and buy a box of whatever color it is that you want and put it on in your bathroom mirror. Alternately, if you want to add two or more colors to you hair, this is a little bit trickier and you will need certain supplies if you wish to do this at home. This method is used with permanent or semi-permanent hair dye, but they should be of the same brand.

Instructions

1. Lay old newspapers down all over the area where you are working. Put on an old long sleeved shirt that you don't care about ruining.

2. Decide exactly where you want the 2 different colors placed throughout your hair, and section it off and clip the sections. If you are going to do streaks, you will need as many pieces of foil for as many streaks that you want to do, plus a few extra.

3. Rub a thin coat of Vaseline around your hairline all the way around your head, neck and ears so you won't stain your skin. Make sure you don't get it in your hair.

4. Put on the rubber gloves and mix the first color you are going to use, following the directions. You will be starting from the bottom of your hair, so mix the color that you know you will be putting on the bottom first.

5. Apply your color slowly and a little at a time, starting from the roots of your hair. If you are doing streaks and using foils, wrap the piece you just coated with dye securely up in the foil. If you are dying large sections, you can wrap them with plastic wrap.

6. Wait for the allotted amount of time as the directions say on the boxes and go no longer than that.

7. Rinse the pieces out one at a time with warm water, starting with the sections you did first. Continue following the directions from the hair dye kits, as sometimes they tell you to work up a lather before you rinse it out.
