A hunting blind can be an excellent way to hunt with comfort and ease. It allows you to hide in your prey's own environment, giving you the advantage you need.
Instructions
1. Choose a plan. One option is to look into hunting blind kits. There are many out there that will give you a basic framework and the materials needed, along with blueprints. Even if you don't choose a kit, there are plans available for a fee. Making your own blueprint works too, if you have the skill.
2. Pick a location for your blind. It helps if you choose an area that already has some camouflage, such as grass, reeds, or trees. Choose a spot where your prey will come to you.
3. Buy materials. Make a list of what you plan to use and purchase it at your local hardware store. Don't forget the little things, like bolts, screws and paint.
4. Cut and assemble your materials. Using a tool appropriate to your materials, cut out the sides, roof and floor. Be sure to sand any ragged edges and cut any windows or doors needed. Attach the sides to each other with nails, bolts or glue and add the roof and floor. Ensure that everything is secure and fastened together correctly.
5. Camouflage your blind. Dear and other animals can tell if something in their environment is out of place, so its best to use natural materials to hide your blind, such as grass or reeds. Camo covered burlap works almost as well, however.
6. Leave your blind in place. Once your blind is set up, if at all possible, let it stay there. This allows the animals in the area to get used to its presence.
