Buy Suspenders
Whether you want to buy suspenders to hold up your pants or as a fashion statement, you can choose from many types available. Learn pick the perfect men's accessory item to complement your casual, sporty or fashionable style.
Instructions
1. Consider how you want them to attach to your pants. Options include a clip, button, hook or Perry hook.
2. Determine your size. Your height and waist size should be considered. Most come in various lengths and are adjustable. Be wary of "one size fits all" claims.
3. Choose from different suspender widths. The thickness can vary from 1 to 2 inches.
4. Know that based on the type you buy, you may need to modify your existing pants. For example, the button suspenders require a button to be sewn on the inside of your slacks. Those suspenders that clip or attach to your belt don't require any garment modifications.
5. Look at both the "X" and "Y" shaped suspenders. Both styles are basically the same in the front, but the back forms either letter shape. A slight difference in comfort may be noticed, so try both types on to determine your preference.
6. Shop for suspenders based on your purpose. If they'll be hidden under a sports jacket, then a color or style may not be important. For hunting, you will want to find camouflage types. For a fashion statement, shop for those suspenders that will blend well with your shirt as well as your pants.
