Hair bows add a cute accent to a child's hairstyle.
Hair bows are not just cute hair accessories, they also are functional. If your child has thick, fluffy hair, a hair bow can keep it neat and manageable. Maybe you want to pull her hair up in a pony tail, while she wants to wear her hair down. One solution is to use a decorative hair bow to pull back a small amount of her hair, but allowing the rest of it to hang down. Your child will look put together and you keep your calm at the same time.
Instructions
1. Measure and cut a piece of ribbon 2 inches wide by 12 inches long. Use any type of ribbon in your preferred color.
2. Squeeze a line of glitter down along the cut edges of the ribbon to help prevent fraying.
3. Make a big bow by finding the center of the ribbon and creating a loop on each side. The bow can have small loops and long tails or large loops and short tails.
4. Squeeze dots of glitter glue over the bow for decoration. Space the dots out evenly and try to make them all the same size.
5. Squeeze a pea-sized dollop of glitter glue onto the knot of the bow and press a plastic jewel bead onto the glue. Let the glue dry for 10 minutes to secure the bead onto the bow knot.
6. Put a hot glue stick into a hot glue gun, plug in the hot glue gun and allow it to heat up for 10 minutes.
7. Squeeze a line of hot glue along the top of a metal barrette and press the underside of the finished bow onto the glue. Hold the bow in place for 10 minutes until the glue cools and hardens.
