One the most versatile and economical craft supplies, ribbon has a virtually endless list of possibilities for use. Accenting clothing with ribbon can alter the look or save a stained item. Ribbon takes regular gift wrap to a new class or can be used in paper crafts. Ribbon can be added to home decor and changed out frequently for seasonal or other changes in color scheme. Weddings use ribbon to bring all the elements together beautifully.
Fashion with Ribbon
Some fashion accessories can be primarily made of ribbon; ribbon belts are common and easy to make, while ribbon jewelry or pins are also economical and versatile crafts. Hair accessories such as headbands, hair bows, and hair clips can all be made either in part or in whole with ribbon. For clothing, weave ribbon in and out of slits in the neck or sleeves of a top. Try sewing ribbons onto socks, skirts, dresses, etc. Wherever you'd like a ruffle, ribbon can be used to make it special.

Use ribbon for the tablecloth, napkins, place mats, and even napkin rings. Vases can be accented with ribbon; try a collection of vases with different ribbons in corresponding colors. Wreaths and pomanders can be decorated with ribbons or even made completely of ribbon. Ribbon can be used on photo mats or to hang frames in an elegant way.
Weddings with Ribbon
Tie together your wedding theme by using coordinated ribbons on your save-the-date cards, invitations and thank you notes. Wrap the stems of the bride and bridesmaids' bouquets in the same color as the corsages and boutonnieres. Use the same color again to accent the ring bearer's pillow and flower basket. The reception area can incorporate multiple sizes and styles of ribbon in the same color or a combination of two or three colors that work together.
