Wedding Invitation Card Ideas With Hearts

Invite family and friends to your wedding with the right invitation.

A couple's wedding invitation is their first introduction to the overall wedding theme. When using a heart or romantic theme for your wedding, incorporating a heart into your wedding invitation can go further than a simple embossed or printed invite. These ideas can be incorporated into pre-made invitations or even in creating your own invites.

Charms

Wedding invitations do not always have to be printed or embossed with a heart. Purchasing small charms that are glued to your invitation or tied to the invitation can add a three-dimensional look and personalize even a pre-made card to match your wedding theme.

When using a charm invitation, use organza or coordinating colored ribbon to tie a bow to the front of your invitation and use a heart charm pinned to the center of the bow. A heart charm can be purchased in bulk from jewelry makers and can come in gold, silver, plastic or synthetic materials.

Confetti Hearts

If on a budget, a couple may not be able to afford 200 or more mini charms to glue to the front of their invitations. Rather than purchasing an actual heart charm for your invite, you can purchase pre-punched silver and gold confetti hearts to fill the inside of your wedding invitation and envelope.

Use larger pieces of heart confetti to string across the front of your invitation. Confetti hearts can be created on your own with a heart punch or a Cricut cutting machine and gold or silver vellum paper purchased from your local craft store.

Heart Photographs

A classic and romantic way to use a heart in a wedding invitation is by using a photograph of the happy couple surrounded by a simple white, silver or gold heart on the front of the invitation. This frame can be embellished with gold or silver paint to add an extra touch.

Finish the invitation by tying it closed with a romantic ribbon and bow that matches the overall wedding theme colors.

Hand-Painted Hearts

Something as simple as hearts that are painted with a brush and accents of scroll can add just the right touch to a wedding invitation. These can be purchased pre-printed by a machine or a couple with some spare time can create this art on their own using a paint brush and silver, gold or black paints.

Accent the hand-painted hearts with scroll detail, bows or even romantic phrases about love and relationships.
