Make Quincenera Decorations
A quinceanera is a special celebration that marks a major milestone in a young girl's life. She will treasure the memories of this party for years to come. The decorations for this party should reflect the young girl's personal style. Once you select the theme colors of the quinceanera, you can use them throughout the decorations. Even if you are on a budget, there are many great ideas that you can use to decorate the venue.
Instructions
1. Cover the tables with a colored fabric that touches the floor. Place another layer of sheer material over the table. Gather 3 to 5 helium balloons in your theme colors and tie together with curling ribbon. Decorate the tables with these balloon centerpieces. Or attach the clusters of balloons with ribbon to colorful bags that are filled with tissue paper and candy. Sprinkle table with shiny confetti, ribbon, or flower petals.
2. Create a large bow of tulle or gossamer and drape across the back of chairs. Allow the tails of the bows to trail the floor.
3. Create a "String of Pearls" balloon arch. Tie one end of the nylon line to a chair, pole, or base. Unroll as much of the nylon line that you need, but don't cut it until the last balloon is tied. Tie the nylon line around the neck of the balloon. Repeat this process until the length of line that you desire is covered with balloon clusters. Wrap pastel Christmas lights, ribbon, or tulle around the arch to give the room a magical effect.
4. Create a balloon column to use at the head table of the guest of honor. Gather 3 to 5 balloons and use the nylon line to tie them in clusters. Tie the clusters to a sturdy plastic or metal pole. Always make sure that the bases used in balloon columns are strong and sturdy to anchor the pole. Use large balloons for the bottom, smaller balloons in between and a star shaped or heart shaped mylar balloon on the top. Cover the entire pole with layers of balloon clusters. Create 4 balloon columns and place them at the corners of the dance floor. Scatter balloons throughout the dance floor.
5. Drape white and silver metallic streamers or gossamer starting from the center of the ceiling to the walls on the sides of the room.
Continue to decorate the room with streamers in your theme color.
6. Emphasize the young girl's 15th birthday by placing a pair of glass slippers at the center of a table. Place fifteen white candles around the slippers. A young woman is able to wear high heels for the first time when she reaches this age so the decorative shoes symbolize her coming of age.
7. Mix a few drops of artificial color in a half bowl of water. The artificial color should match your theme colors. Place floating tea light candles in the water. Or place flowers such as carnations, roses, and daises in clear bowls of water. Or place large white candles on a table. Then place a ring of silk flowers that match your theme color around each candle. Try filling glasses with shreds of metallic ribbon, tiny chocolates, or flower petals.
